Welcome to NMBC web site.

We are a small friendly group of people from all walks of life, who share a passion for building and/or sailing model boats of all types, scales and sizes, from international one meter class racing yachts to tug boats and right over to very simple fun boats.

We meet at Silver Mine Lake at Cornwall's Crealy park between St Columb Major and Wadebridge and also Trenance boating lake, Trenance lane, Newquay, Cornwall. Club days are generally on Sundays from around 10am and Tuesday/Thursday afternoon until dusk, although members can use the lakes at any time. Visitors to the club are very welcome to come along and see what goes on.

5 4 Club meetings are generally held at the Wheal Treasure Hotel, Edgecumbe Avenue, Newquay, every other month to discuss club business and events. Anyone wishing to visit the pond or the meetings, are very welcome to come along at any time.

The clubs activities include one metre yacht racing, tug towing,  scale steering and timed events. The club also visits shows and regattas around the South West, as well as holding its own Model Boat Open Days and Night Sails every year. In addition visitors can now come along and if they don't have their own boat they can have use of the clubs new loaner boats.

Newquay club is affiliated to South West Association of Model Boat Clubs and the Model Yachting Association. We are also sponsored by Millers Toymaster Truro by way of a club member discount and by Steve Thatcher at the Wheal Treasure Hotel for the use of the lounge during meetings.
