Another round of tug towing
At the SWAMBC AGM it was decided that the second round of next years 2007 tug towing is to be held by the Newquay club at Silver mine lake, Crealy Park Cornwall on the 22nd of July. The skippers meeting is at 10:30am and entry costs £2 (this is to cover the cost of prizes). This will be the third round we have organised and I think we should have a good turn out for this event and hope that we can attract some members of local clubs, who maybe have not tried it before. The main objective is to have fun, so come and have a go . If you are interested in this or anything else on the website send me an Email or call and ask for Phil, contact details are on the join the club page.
Tug Towing
2004 saw the first members of Newquay taking part in SWAMBC tug towing championship. This is divided into four rounds hosted by different clubs around the south west. Each round has 3 categories single towing (by far the most popular round), singles pushing and team towing. Details of these can be found on the SWAMBC website.
Last year several people from Newquay MBC took part in SWAMBC tug towing with some excellent results. Details and pictures are on the tug towing page.

Try our Loaner Boats
Fancy having a go at model boating, but don't want to go to the expense of buying a boat only to find you don't like it? Then we may have the answer try one of our loaner boats. Due to many members of the public asking to have a go with our own boats, we decided to build four small fun boats to lend out so people could try their hand at the hobby and they are proving to be very popular with the public and club members alike. so come and have a go they're not called fun boats for nothing!
